SHARJAH, 24th October, 2024 (WAM) — The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has launched the “Nursery Improvement Journey” as part of the ITQAN programme.
This initiative, in partnership with a specialised early childhood education organisation, aims to enhance educational and care services in Sharjah’s nurseries.
The project provides support to nursery staff, improving their skills to prepare for future educational stages. It focuses on upgrading the learning environment and workforce capabilities to ensure the quality of early childhood education in the emirate.
As part of the initial phase, SPEA has begun improvement review visits to 141 public and private nurseries. These visits follow the Sharjah Nursery Improvement Framework, developed with the Sharjah Education Academy, to set benchmarks for enhancing teaching methods, learning spaces, and staff development.
Ali Al Hosani, Director of SPEA, emphasised the ITQAN programme’s role in improving education quality across Sharjah. Initially launched in private schools, the programme has expanded to nurseries to support areas in need of development. He reiterated that the initiative aligns with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, focusing on sustainable education.
Al Hosani highlighted the importance of appointing specialists to collaborate with nursery staff and parents to meet evolving educational needs. This cooperation is essential in creating a stimulating, safe environment for children. He also thanked nursery administrations and parents for their support, noting their role in the project’s success.
The Authority has organised “Professional Development Week” for nursery managers and early childhood educators, offering sessions on best practices in early childhood education to enhance the learning experience for young children.
The Nursery Improvement Journey aims to support children’s social, emotional, linguistic, and motor skills while encouraging parental involvement in their development at home, contributing to a brighter future for society.
